Kimberly Mallia

I’m a school psychologist, college professor, and private practitioner, with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development, a Master’s degree in Psychology, and a Specialist degree in School Psychology. However, the most powerful and informative training I have is being a mother.

I hold a license in School Psychology and am a Nationally Certified School Psychologist, while also teaching at the University of Phoenix.

My approach is unique, as I thread educational specialty, yoga/spiritual philosophy and psychological expertise to guide adults, adolescents, and children to a balanced, peaceful, joyful and happy life.

I know that humans are not disabled; rather we are a human population of neurodiversity. Neurodiversity is the idea that we have differences in individual brain function and behavior that is a normal variation in the human population. For example, one is not slow, but rather a careful thinker.

I specialize in evaluating students utilizing an educational and psychological approach. I’m a specialist in the areas of Response to Intervention (RTI), which is a multi-tier approach to the early identification and support of students with learning and behavioral needs. I also evaluate for disabilities — my specialties include, but are not limited to: school neuropsychology, suicide and self-Injury, psychopharmacology, legislative advocacy, positive behavior support, CHAMPS-classroom management, and aggression replacement training.

I evaluate students for all Exceptional Student Education (ESE) programs, including, but not limited to: Gifted, Specific Learning Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disability, and Emotional Behavioral Disability. I assess learning style, personal strengths and weaknesses, and provide counseling within a behavioral-cognitive and positive psychology structure. My counseling style is based on understanding root problems and guiding new perspective to ultimate happiness.

I have been awarded the Florida Association of School Psychology Department of the Year, RTI Slave Driver Award, School Neuropsychology Scholarship, Humanitarian of the Year, and special talent awards for sports and academics. As a lifelong sportswoman and collegiate athlete I can connect to students athleticism or competitive mindset to foster motivation.

If you have been thinking about having your child evaluated for ADHD, autism, learning disability, gifted or any presenting problems with which you require assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact me, as I would be happy to assist you and talk through your concerns.

I know that happiness is inherent. I provide support for educational ease, life balance, to bring you back to your joy.
